Dekkdale Farms Ltd. strives to meet customer demands for high grade consistent dry hay bales. With good indoor storage and many shipping avenues, we can supply customers locally and internationally with consistent dry hay all year long.
Our process for successful hay starts with choosing the best seed varieties and mixes that meet our customer's needs. Once the fields are established we fertilize and feed the crop to produce the most nutritious and vibrant green colour hay, with the help of expert recommendations. Our process in the field for harvesting the forage is very redefined and particular to insure the crop can get cut and dried in the sun quickly, then baled and stored in our sheds. Typically this process is completed in 36-48 hours. When conditions change and don't allow this to happen in the field, we proceed to bale and dry hay bales with our Chinook Hay Drying system, (added in 2018). We can now insure no dust or mold will come from hay baled in higher moisture situations. Our drying system will allow us to reduce the baled moisture from 22-24 percent moisture to 10-12 percent moisture for proper storage. With our Farm Truck Weigh Scale, we can now insure customers get what they pay for, as well as maximize truck payloads at Ministry Standards and highway restrictions.
